Over 20 years of hands-on experience. i have observed that most masters begin bazi analysis or using bazi calculator with this 3-step procedure stated below to establish Day Master profile is Strong or Weak 身强或身弱? If strong suppress, weak to support known as 扶抑 原理. My opinion is a coin toss.
If this method is correct, everyone on Earth is divided into half. Either strong or weak at a binary level. Then bazi calculator will conclude the Most Helpful Element Required:
1.Season’s Timing (失令 月地支 – De Ling): Assessing the support from Month Root.
2.Earthly Rooting (失地 地支 – De Di): Evaluating Main roots & sub roots.
3.Heavenly Influence (失势 天干 – De Shi): Measuring the presence and strength of Heavenly Stems.
Using this method will one able to ascertain how successful is this profile before even looking at 10-years luck pillar?
The app conclude that Jia Wood is weak. Because it is not supported by these 3 measures: Not by Season 失令, not by Rooting 失地 and Influence 失势. So for a weak Jia wood Day Master, it requires water for support. As a result water is the most beneficial element. Most masters and available bazi calculator app will arrive at this conclusion.
This binary system undermine Authentic Classical Bazi Analysis. Sorting strong or weak does not even reveal the depth and breadth of a bazi analysis. Simply put is just the infant stage or bazi reading.
This 3 step system is necessary but definitely not the first prority nor the most important factor to look at.
In other words if someone is having this bazi, he will be told: when your 10-Year Luck pillars or Annual luck cycle or Month is Water element. you will be enjoying good fortune. The steps are wrong and so is the finding.

Another unexpected startling thing that i discover is AI is also using this 3-Step system.
i suspect the wrong conclusion is a learning error. AI collect and process massive amounts of world data. Origins of these data came from feng shui masters or some call themselves as grandmasters. Their web posts, blogs, youtube videos, modern day books, educational seminars, podcasts and many other relevant sources from the metaphysics world.
The wrong outcome in my opinon are caused by most of these metaphysics sources providing this methodology in birth reading.
i believed AI used the law of averages, dependent on the majority. Statistically this seem correct but lies the issue – what if the rare few minority are correct. Among all the metaphysics subjects, personally i find bazi reading is the most difficult to master!
Given enough time i believed artificial intelligence will do better if somehow it can learn from minority masters that are top in their field. Not forgetting period 9 luck era the fire element is here to stay for the next 20 years!
